At FATCO, it's our mission to create all natural, high quality skincare products with ingredients you can understand (and pronounce).
Years ago, when I was shopping for skin care products, I was horrified at all the additives and harsh chemicals found in typical skin care products. Being a huge believer in the nose to tail philosophy, I discovered that implementing wasted animal products into my skin care was a win-win. I decided to use tallow, an otherwise wasted by-product of the beef industry, to create skincare products that are as healing and restorative as they are natural.
We source our tallow from ethical, sustainable farms such as the Deck Family Farm in Oregon, the Belcampo farm in Northern California, and the Marin Sun Farms in the Bay Area. These farms raise their animals humanely, allowing their animals to graze open fields of grass.
Putting tallow into skincare was unconventional to say the least. But, when you boil it down, tallow is a superfood for your skin and utilizing it actually helps the environment, rather than detracting from it. Tallow is healing and regenerative, it’s rich in vitamins A, D, K, and E, and it calms the skin. As I always say, “Your skin is your biggest organ. Treat it well!”
